Subject: Where should you post your content, [firstname]?

Hi [firstname],

You might have the greatest content in the world, but if nobody sees it, it's not going to do you any good.  So today I want to cover some of the places you can post your content so it gets noticed.

I suppose the best place to post content is your own blog. In fact, I would go so far as to say that whatever type of content you create, you should make your blog the kingpin of your content marketing operation.

The more content you have, the more information you have, the more reasons people have to visit your site, the greater the traffic and lower the bounce rate, the higher your site will rank in the SERPS. It's a virtuous circle.

If you have a sales website, you can simply add a blog section to it.  When people read your blog, they'll see the links to other parts of your site.  Curiosity will get them looking at these other parts of your site, and “hey presto!” they'll discover your products or services.

Once you've got your blog established, you can start guest blog posting.  This basically means that you offer blog posts for free to other blog owners in return for a mention in the “bio” box and a link back to your site.  This helps to establish you as an “expert” in your field – especially if you're guest posting on an “authority” site.

Of course you should post your videos on YouTube, but be sure to include a link to your site/blog underneath and some contact details or URL at the end of the video.  People are used to seeing “credits” at the end of videos, so this won't be considered “salesy”.  Enable linking and embedding to encourage people to put your video on their sites.

Finally, don't forget sharing sites like reddit.com, Yahoo! Answers and so on. These sites get a LOT of traffic, so that's a lot of eyeballs for your content.
